The Scottish Men’s hockey squad has been released today ahead of their test matches against the Netherlands this coming weekend, May 27th – 28th.

The test matches are set to be played in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where the Scots are eager to exert some pressure on the home team.

Both countries are using the weekend as an essential part of their preparation ahead of the World League Semi-Finals that are scheduled in June.

Scotland are hoping to continue on their recent success, where they have climbed from 28th in the world rankings to 23rd.

The Blue Sticks are a squad of enthusiastic and talented men who harness the values and core fundamental ideals of hockey, which has been demonstrated in their recent fundraising campaign.  They have taken to thinking of creative and innovative methods in order to raise funds in order to ensure that they are able to compete against some of the world’s elite hockey nations with gusto, and through this process and the kindness of the #hockeyfamily community, have raised a staggering £11,000+.  Their target of £15,000 is within reach, with the squad raising over 75% already!

On the Hockey World News website they have stated:

The Scotland men’s hockey team is full of aspiration – as well as the potential of reaching the Hockey World Cup they are aiming to compete at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018, and have athletes on GB programmes working towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
