The North Wales coastline boasts miles upon miles of sensational coastline of sheer beauty. On Saturday 19th of August, an army of Pwllheli Hockey Club (Clwb Hoci Pwllheli) supporters marched across the 20 mile terrain in order to raise money towards a new pitch.
The pitch will be a part of the rugby, cricket and hockey club at the heart of the community for Pwllheli and surrounding areas, so it’s pivotal that a new pitch is installed to ensure sport is continued, and developed, in North West Wales.
Over the course of the day, coins were thrown into a myriad of buckets as the team visited each area on their voyage, which came to the grand total of £827.20! This is a staggering amount and very much appreciated by the club, who took to Facebook in order to give their hearty thanks to the generous locals. This is a testament to the generosity of a community that truly believes in what the club is trying to do.
Clwb Hoci Pwllheli’s JustGiving page has reached £370 to date too – which is even more added to the pot. Although the club can celebrate their success this weekend, they still have a huge amount left to raise.
Until the next chapter in their #pwllhelipitchproblems story, they can rest their wary legs, especially as the new season is nearly upon us!
